Longspur Clean Energy - Gelion - Second Agreement with Major OEM
Research on Gelion (GELN) from Longspur Clean Energy
Gelion has signed an important co-funded proof of concept agreement with a global top five automotive manufacturer. While the ongoing agreement with Nissan UK is for solid state batteries, this new agreement is for all cells with a graphitic anode and can be a drop in material for existing lines without major re-tooling. Together with last week’s material transfer agreement with another major OEM, we see the deal as a sign that the automotive industry is starting to be attracted by the significant performance and costs potential in Gelion’s proprietary cathode active material. Both deals follow the signing of new patents in the US, Europe and Asia which we see as allowing Gelion to strengthen its position with battery manufactures.
